March 16th, 2020
To the Church of the Good Shepherd Parish,
You may have heard by now that the Archbishop has suspended all public Catholic Masses and Catholic Schools, effective today, March 16th until April 6th. This also means all official public gatherings on parish grounds are also suspended until April 6th.
This announcement is made with a heavy heart, but a heart also filled with hope.
The church will remain open for prayer and confessions, and we will be figuring out ways to make Holy Communion and other sacraments available. We will also discuss if our fish fry will continue with a ‘pick-up only’ option.
Tomorrow (Tuesday), I will be meeting with parish leadership to discuss the challenges and opportunities for our parish. At that time, we will craft a more comprehensive message for all.
In the meantime, please know that we have created this landing that will be updated with news, information, and resources.
Also on this page is a way to sign up for our email communications. Many parishioners are not signed up – if you hear someone has not received an email from the parish, please encourage them to browse to this website for the opportunity to register.
Let’s double down on our prayers and trust in God. We are not meant to carry this Cross alone. “I can do all things in Christ, who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
