Note from Fr. Buehler
As we wrap up our Christmas season this Sunday, I want to offer a big ‘Thank you’ to the many, many volunteers who helped to make our church and grounds and liturgies so beautiful the past several weeks – the music, the decorations, the cleaning, the serving, the setup and takedown… So much time goes in to making the special Masses and liturgies around Christmas possible, and most of it is ‘behind the scenes’. Please be sure to offer a word of gratitude to and a prayer for all those who sacrificed.
Also, thank you to the many generous parishioners who dropped off a card or small gift for the resident parochial administrator. Even more, thank you for your continued warm welcome and support, and for your prayers. It is a privilege to serve you all as your priest.
You may have seen an article in the Leader and some construction in the abandoned lot next to our athletic fields. As of the writing of this article, the county is preparing to place a recycling collection facility at that spot. We wholeheartedly endorse recycling as Catholics, even if it costs something, as a way of being good stewards of creation. That said, we have some concerns about the plans and are in communication with Jefferson County to address them. Please keep that conversation in your prayers.
Also, as many of you are returning to work and school from a nice winter break, I find it’s time that I take a little time for vacation. I’ll be away from the parish a few times in the next couple months:
Fri 1/17- Mon 1/20 for a short trip. Fr. Ken Brown, Vicar for Clergy, will be covering Sunday Mass
Thurs 1/23 – Sat 1/25 for Generation Life with the youth group.
Sunday 2/9 – Sat 2/15 for vacation.
May God bless you, and let’s keep one another in prayer!
