School-Wide Curriculum Goals

Religion Subject Area Goals

  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of the beliefs of the Catholic Church as described in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of and participate in the Liturgy and Sacraments of the Catholic Church as described the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
  • Students will live out their faith using the guidelines of morality described in the
    Catechism of the Catholic Church.
  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of and participate in Catholic prayer as described in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of and appreciation for St. Vincent de Paul and his life of prayer and service for God.

Language Arts Subject Area Goals

  • Students will use decoding and phonics skills to read.
  • Students will read and demonstrate an understanding of vocabulary words.
  • Students will demonstrate comprehension of reading materials.
  • Students will explore various examples of literature.
  • Students will demonstrate an ability to write in manuscript and cursive.
  • Students will accurately spell words.

Math Subject Area Goals

  • Students will represent and analyze mathematical relationships using algebraic symbols and functions.

  • Students will identify periods of musical history, styles of music, music from other cultures and uses for music.

Physical Education Subject Area Goals

  • Students will develop good motor skill patterns by exploring basic movement skills.
  • Students will demonstrate competence and safety in a variety of fundamental skills and activities in groups or with a partner.
  • Students will perform selected locomotion, non-locomotion, and manipulative skills.
  • Students will develop concepts, rules and basic strategies of games and physical activities.
  • Students will develop fundamental skills that will allow them to participate in games and physical activities.
  • Students will demonstrate competence in rhythm activities.
  • Students will describe the relationship of proper nutrition, exercise and health care.

Technology Subject Area Goals
