Supporting the Students and School in many ways. From playground to technology, and education to school trips, we are here to help the kids grow in a loving community.
What we do
Good Shepherd Home and School Association (HASA) meets four times a year. Meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday of the month in the school cafeteria. The meetings begin at 6:30 and conclude by 8:00. To encourage parent participation at the meetings,”dress down coupons” are given to the students whose parents attended. The Home and School Association requires 20 parent participation hours per school year.
All parents/guardians of students enrolled in Good Shepherd School are automatically members of HASA. This organization supports the students and school in many ways, including, but not limited to, providing an online grading program, online educational resources, Scholastic News, Science World Newspaper, and providing funding for our technology needs. HASA also purchased our playground equipment, fencing around the field, and funds for new drinking fountains. HASA provides funding and support for field trips, school/family assemblies and events, T-shirts for all students (every other year), Santa Shop, annual Advent Gathering, Catholic Schools Week activities, Bellarmine speech program, and Christmas parade float. HASA organizes fundraising opportunities throughout the year, such as Lenten Fish Fries, Entertainment Book sale, The Run Into Summer 5K, as well as supports our annual school auction. Our auction contributes to the operational budget of the school. In the past 5 years, the auction has contributed a minimum of $40,000 per year to the school budget.
